Join Creatio for this unforgettable backcountry mountain adventure, in the middle of winter! Learn the basics of backcountry winter travel, and enjoy cozy afternoons and evenings sitting by a blazing fire. Hut trips offer something for everyone, great food, friendship, and plenty of outdoor experience.
This trip is beginner / introductory level and no prior backcountry ski or snowboard experience is required, although it is recommended. Come prepared to get out your comfort zone and push your limits. While winter trips in the Backcountry are challenging, they provide an incredible rewarding and unique opportunity for Adventure seekers.
This trip involves skiing or snowshoeing 3 miles up 1,221 feet of vertical gain while carrying a backpack. Please prepare yourself mentally and physically.
NOTE: Backcountry Skis, also called AT or Alpine Touring Skis, are not the same as Cross-Country (XC) skis. If participants would like to use XC skis, they must be equipped with climbing skins, as the trip to the hut requires more than 2,000ft of vertical elevation gain. The snowboarding equivalent is called a "Split-board" and is also compatible with climbing skins.
